Ellington Man Charged With Voyeurism

Police say the man shot video with his cell phone up women's skirts at a mall.

South Windsor Police have charged an Ellington man with shooting video up women’s skirts with his cell phone at the Buckland Hills Mall in July.

Police arrested Peter Krystofalski, 25, of 221 Somers Road, Ellington, on a warrant Sept. 3 and charged him with voyeuristic recording of another person and breach of peace.

Krystofalski’s charges stem from a July 2015 complaint that a man was filming up women’s skirts at a Buckland Hills Drive retail store, according to Lt. Scott Custer.

Store security officers had video of the man and his activity.

Custer said the surveillance footage showed the man placing his cell phone in a shopping basket, then walking up behind women and positioning the basket so as to point the camera/phone up their skirts.

The surveillance footage also captured the vehicle that the suspect had been driving. Officers later identified the man as Krystofalski and during an interview, he confessed to the activity.

Krystofalski was later released on a $20,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 17.
