
Ann L. (Kern) Riley, 91 of Ellington died peacefully on January 11, 2016.
More commonly known as “Nancy” she was born on July 24, 1924 in Providence, RI to Augustus F. and Anna V. (Sullivan) Kern. She was the third of their six children, all of whom pre-deceased her; Eileen, Joseph, Mary, Jean and Gus. She grew up in East Providence and graduated from Bay View Academy in 1942. After WWII she dated and in 1949 married Edward F. Riley, also of East Providence. They were married for 48 years until Ed passed in 1997. During their marriage they raised four children, Michael (Debra) Riley, Mary (Donald) King, Jayne Riley and Paul (Debra) Riley.
In addition to her children she is survived by 10 grandchildren, Mark, Jacob, Kathleen, Michael, Sam, Max, John, Kiley, Sean and Nick. She was also an accomplished golfer, having two “hole in ones” during her playing years. She had recently returned to Connecticut after living for 28 years in Florida.

A memorial service will be held on January 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, Ellington, Connecticut. Internment will take place at a later date at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI to join her parents and daughter, Karen A. Riley, who predeceased her.
