Ellington Obituary: Avis LeCours, 99

Condolences to her family and friends.

Avis (Corrow) LeCours, 99, of Simsbury loving wife of 55 years to the late Albert A. LeCours entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, September 22, 2015, at the McLean Home surrounded by her family.

Avis was born March 30, 1916, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys (Lane) Corrow. Avis was born and raised in Craftsbury VT and in 1939 she and Albert were united in marriage. Together they moved to Woonsocket, RI where they lived for over 20 years, then Windsor Locks for 40 years where they raised their family. They then moved to Ellington and Florida and later to Simsbury. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great grandmother whom gave tirelessly for her family. Being surrounded by her large family brought her the greatest of joy.

Avis is survived by two sons, Normand LeCours (Marian) of Lake Stevens, WA and Marcel LeCours (Sheway) of Las Vegas; five daughters, Claire Kulas (Donald) of Windsor Locks, Laurette Jack (Richard) of Farmington, Lea Miller of Somers, Mickey LeCours-Beck (Richard) of North Granby, Yolande LeCours-Heintz (Peter) of Simsbury; 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 3 great -great grandchildren; a daughter -in-law, Nancy LeCours and several nieces and nephews. Avis was predeceased by a son, Philippe LeCours; a brother and two sisters.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, September 25, 2015, at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
