Ellington Obituary: Corinne Eckhardt, 106

Corinne O. Eckhardt, 106, of Ellington, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017 at McLean Care Center in Simsbury.

Born in Rockville, the daughter of the late Oswald and Elizabeth (Hartman) Eckhardt, she grew up and lived most of her life in Manchester, Ellington, and Vernon before moving to Simsbury seven years ago. Prior to her retirement, Corinne was employed by Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for 27 years.

She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Ellington. She loved to entertain, play the piano, and spend time at the Cape. Corinne was a wonderful baker, a great flirt, and she loved animals.

She is survived by her niece, Susan Roberts of Cape Coral, FL, her longtime close friend, Shirley MacDonald of Windsor and her god daughter, Sharon MacDonald of Windsor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, and three sisters.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 154 Orchard Street, Ellington. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville.
