Ellington Obituary: Edward Wysocki, Jr., 57

Condolences to his family and friends.

Edward B. Wysocki Jr., 57 of Ellington, was guided by the holy angels on his final flight to meet his God on Saturday, April 9, 2016.

Born in Worcester, MA, on March 24, 1959, Ed was the son of Edward Sr. and Alice (Giza) Wysocki of Ellington. Ed had a passion for flight where, in the past, he owned and operated a Bell 47 helicopter, received his commercial / instrument certification and flew fixed-winged aircraft. Ed received his bachelor of science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and worked as a project engineer for several UTC divisions. Ed loved hunting and fishing and was mechanically inclined, as he totally restored a 1947 Wyllie's Jeep.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers and their spouses, James and Jeanne Wysocki of Somers, Joseph and Lisa Wysocki of Somers, and a sister and her spouse, Dianne and Thomas Woronik of Salem; five nieces, Amy, Alyssa, Aleene, Laura and Mackenna; and nephew and godson Michael and his other godson Jonathan Peczka.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Ed's life will be held at Saint Luke's Church in Ellington on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Ellington Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses held at Saint Luke's Church, Ellington.
