Ellington Obituary: Elsa Champ, 92

Condolences to her family and friends.

Elsa (Buser) Champ, 92, of Plymouth, NH and formerly of Ellington, beloved wife of the late Russell Champ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in Meredith, NH.

in Union City, NJ the daughter of the late David and Emma (Schwander) Buser, she grew up and lived most of her life in Rockville and Ellington before moving to New Hampshire two years ago. Elsa was a longtime resident of Longview Village in Ellington. She was the assistant director of food service for the Vernon Public Schools for 20 years before her retirement in 1989. After retirement, Elsa and Russell enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, FL. Elsa was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington and Sarasota.

She is survived by her loving children, Gary Champ and his wife Susan of Charleston, SC, Linda Allen and her husband Scott of Plymouth, NH, and Guy Champ and his wife Heidi of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Eric, Jason, Beth, Andrew, Leah, and Sarah; eight great grandchildren, Nathan, MaryJane, Devin, Bailey, Luciana, Natalie, Derek and William; a brother, Ernest Buser of Sarasota, FL and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was also predeceased by her sister, Louise Mack and her brother, Henry Buser.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington. Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday, February 3rd, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
