
Eunice E. Bahler, 86, of South Windsor passed away peacefully at her home Monday, February 29, 2016, after sixteen years of debilitating Parkinson’s Disease, which she endured with patience and grace.
Eunice was born September 19, 1929, at home in Ellington during the Depression, the daughter of the late Adolph and Ida (Zahner) Bahler. She lived in West Hartford before moving to South Windsor in 1946. Eunice worked for 48 years at Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company in Hartford and later in Middletown before her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington for 61 years where, in her younger years, she taught pre-school and kindergarten Sunday School for approximately twenty years.
She is survived by her sisters Marjorie and Marilyn Bahler and her sister-in-law Maxine Bahler, all of South Windsor. She also leaves a niece Sara (Bahler) Grasso and her husband Keven of South Windsor, four nephews, Lloyd Bahler and his wife Jayne of Tolland, Steven Bahler and his wife Lori, Thomas Bahler and his wife LaNae, Philip Bahler and his wife Michelle all of Ellington, and several great nieces, great nephews and one great, great nephew, and one great, great niece who were all very special to her. In addition to her parents, Eunice was predeceased by a sister, Doris Bahler, and two brothers Russell Bahler and R. Lee Bahler.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday March 02, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington. Funeral services will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church on Thursday March 03, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
