Ellington Obituary: Evelyn Angley, 87

Evelyn C. Angley, 87, of Ellington, passed away December 21, 2015 at her home.

She was born July 14, 1928 in Rockville, the daughter of the late John and Ida (Scussel) Girardini and sister of the late Clare L. Peterson. She graduated from St. Bernard’s School in Rockville. Prior to her retirement she worked for the State of Connecticut for the Nutrition and WIC programs. She enjoyed tending her gardens, working in her yard, loving and caring for her pets, spending time with family and friends and shopping.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Angley and his fiancée Mary Jane Deane of Stafford Springs, her daughter, Denise Angley-Cook of Ellington, her granddaughter, Katrina Cook and Joshua Trosper, her great granddaughter Aubrielle Rose Trosper, and her cousins, Janet and Adreana Scussel of Stafford Springs.

The family would also like to extend their appreciation and thank you to her caregiver, Erica McDonald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 25 St. Bernard’s Terrace, Rockville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Route 74, Vernon. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St, Rockville.
