Ellington Obituary: Everett Archibald, 78

Condolences to his family and friends.

Everett G. Archibald, 78, passed away, while under the care of Vernon Hospice, on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Fox Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockville, CT. After a brief illness, he peacefully joined his late wife, Yvonne (Roszell) Archibald, who had passed in 2007.

Everett was born in Brockton, MA to the late Robert Nelson Archibald and Cora Evelyn (Graham) Archibald. He served in the US Air Force after completing the Hospital Corps School Class 4-55. He worked as an installer for Bell/ AT&T and lived the past 40 years in Ellington. Everett graduated from the University of Hartford with a mechanical engineering degree and maintained his interests in DIY projects from restoring cars and boats to fixing and tinkering with things around his house throughout his life. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Harley Davidson Club with TSI in Ellington. He had a lifelong love for dogs, particularly the Jack Russell Terrier.

Everett leaves his son Robert Archibald and his wife Meghan of Andover, CT; his daughter Ann Archibald and her Fiancé Scott Barrett of Hampton, CT; his beloved grandchildren Jake and Cole; and his rescue dog Charly.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on his daughter’s farm at 79 Station Road, Hampton, CT on Sunday December 20 from 1pm to 5pm. He will be buried beside his late wife at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Pineville, Rapides Parish, Louisiana at a later date.

Memorial donations in Everett’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
