Ellington Obituary: James Burdick, 84

Condolences to his family and friends.

James E. Burdick, 84, of Ellington, beloved husband of the late Ann (Manning) Burdick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home.

Born in Elmira, New York, the son of the late Wayland and Mary (Curry) Burdick, he grew up in Elmira and moved to Ellington over 50 years ago. He attended the Coast Guard Academy in New London, and Upsala College in New Jersey. Prior to his retirement, Jim was in manufacturing sales.

He was very outgoing, and he truly appreciated the many close friends he and Ann cared for over the years. Jim was an avid Red Sox fan, and he loved spending time in Maine with Ann and the rest of his family. The times he spent with Ann on their Maine back porch are some of the best one could hope to have.
