
Joan (Joanie) A. Gullen, 77, of Ellington, beloved wife of Frank Gullen, went to be with Jesus on March 11, 2017.
She was the daughter of Joseph Alphonse and Edna Grace (Elliott) Fournier, born May 13, 1939 in St. Johnsbury, VT. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, became an office manager at Metropolitan Insurance. She was introduced to the love of her life by a childhood friend. She was married in August 1961 and lived in Bangor Maine for a brief time before moving to Connecticut where she lived for most of her life.
She held several jobs including Journal Inquirer, Lapoint Industries, Kozy Krafts and Track Shack. She also volunteered her time at the East Windsor Trolley Museum.

Besides her husband Frank, she is survived by her daughters, JoEllen Stancil and her husband Tony of Vernon, and Kelly McCabe and her husband Andy of Storrs. Her Grandchildren, Christopher and Terri Stancil, Austin Stancil, Cale Stancil, A. Grace Stancil, Rebecca Thompson, Joshua McCabe, Jessica (McCabe) and Ari Lawson, a Great Grandson Alex Fontaine and her brother in law Doug Hastings of Virginia. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy (Fournier) Hastings.
Relatives and friends may join the family at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Rockville on March 17, 2017 at 10 am. Burial will be private.
