
Joan (Ziolo) Palka, 91, of Enfield, loving wife of the late Bernard J. Palka, Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2015.
Born in East Windsor, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Prazuch) Ziolo, she grew up in East Windsor and lived in Ellington, Manchester, South Windsor and Vernon before moving to Enfield two years ago. Prior to her retirement, Joan worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for many years. She was a longtime active member of St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church in Manchester. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved children, Bonnie Natsisky and her husband Charles of Ellington and Bernard Palka, Jr. of Manchester; five grandchildren, Nicole Parsons and her husband Stephen, Brian Natsisky and his wife Nicole and Melissa, Neil and Kristin Palka; four great grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Ashley and Evan; a sister, Amy Pankowski of South Windsor, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Joan was predeceased by two brothers, William and Emil Ziolo.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, 23 Golway Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
