Scott Karmen Lanz, 60, an 18-year resident of Vernon, husband, son, brother, and dear friend, died peacefully on July 20, 2017, at his home in Connecticut, surrounded by his loved ones. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2016, and waged a courageous battle for over a year.

Scott began a career in the aerospace industry working with United Technologies - Hamilton Sundstrand where he distinguished himself with more than 38 years of service as an electronic technician. He was a member of the IAMAW Local 743. His continued loyalty and hard work was rewarded by the generous and much appreciated support of the entire Hamilton Sundstrand family.

Scott was fun loving, had a zest for life and was devoted to family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox and loved watching NASCAR and rooting for Michael Waltrip. Scott enjoyed golfing and was a member of the LinkNads Golf League at TopStone Golf Course in South Windsor. His true passion was spending time with his wife, Roberta, on his Kawasaki Z1 motorcycle and a Honda Goldwing.
