Ellington Obituary: William Ertel, 93

William C. Ertel, 93, of Ellington, beloved husband of the late Helen (Ward) Ertel passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

He was born May 15, 1924 in Ellington, the son of the late William and Anna (Stucky) Ertel. He enjoyed attending daily Mass and visiting different shrines.

He is survived by his son, Charles Ertel of Ellington; his sister, Teresa Yoreo and her husband James of Tolland; and his nephew and niece, Dan Yoreo and Margaret Moffett and her husband Clifford. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Agnes Ertel and Ann Verge.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4 to 6 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
