Ellington Obituary: William Long, 70

William J. (Billy) Long, 70, died peacefully on 1/23/2016 at his home in Ellington.

Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Fetzer) Long. A very respectful and humorous man, Billy tackled his intellectual challenges with courage and determination. Billy loved the Red Sox, traveling with his companion, singing and dances. He touched the lives of all he came into contact with.

He is survived by his brothers David Long of Washington and Richard Long of California and his very close friend Richard Zboray.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester with burial to follow at East Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
