Ellington Produces Champion, 8 Placewinners at Indoor Track Meet
The CIAC indoor track and field championships were conducted Thursday through Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Athletes from Ellington High School accounted for an individual event victor and eight other placewinners at the CIAC Class M indoor track and field championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Sydney Schultz won the girls 1000 meter run in a time of 3:06.51, guiding the Knights to a fourth-place finish in team competition, just two points behind runnerup Rocky Hill and one shy of third-place Weston.

Girls
- 2nd - Savanna Macaluso, 55 meter hurdles
- 3rd - 1600 sprint medley; Megan Knowling, high jump
- 4th - Kathryn Bonanno, 3200 meters; Megan Knowling, long jump
Boys

- 2nd - Joshua Prouty, pole vault
- 3rd - Nathan Scofer, high jump (tie)
- 6th - 4 x 800 relay
In the Class S meet, Kylie Raymond of Somers placed third in the girls 3200 meter run.
The championships were held Thursday through Saturday: Class L on Thursday, Class M on Friday and Classes LL and S on Saturday. Click the class headers for complete results.
The State Open will also take place at the Floyd Little Athletic Center on Saturday, Feb. 17.
