ELLINGTON, CT — A $30 investment in a CT Lottery scratch ticket proved to be a financial windfall for an Ellington resident who cashed in the top prize after buying a ticket at a local store.

Lee Owen won the top prize of $30,000 on a 30X Cash 9th Edition ticket bought at the Big Y Ellington Express on Route 83. The winnings were claimed Monday, according to the CT Lottery website.

The CT Lottery posts winners of $10,000 or more as public record.
