Ellington Senior Center Looking To Fill Key Role
Town officials said the job includes meal planning, kitchen oversight, inventory management and food safety duties.
ELLINGTON, CT — The Town of Ellington is hiring a part-time kitchen manager for the Ellington Senior Center, with the position set to begin in September.
According to the town, the job runs from September through May and includes summers off. The position is based at the Senior Center at 40 Maple St. and is scheduled for Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Town officials said the kitchen manager will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations while planning and preparing balanced meals for seniors. The role also includes supervising kitchen staff and volunteers, managing inventory and ordering, and helping oversee the budget.

According to the posting, applicants should have experience in food service management, knowledge of nutrition and safe food handling, and strong leadership and organizational skills. CPR and First Aid certification, as well as Qualified Food Operator certification, are required or must be obtained.
