Ellington-Somers Coronavirus Update: 4 More Cases Confirmed

On Friday, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 reached seven each in Ellington and Somers, according to state health officials.

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Heading into the first weekend of April, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Connecticut climbed near 5,000 Friday, while the total in Ellington and Somers has risen to 14 - seven in each town. Statewide, the number of deaths related to the virus is up to 131, with 909 hospitalizations. Just over 20,000 people have undergone testing for the virus thus far, according to state health officials.

Fairfield County continues to compile the highest number of confirmed cases with 2,716, or 55.3 percent of the state's total. Tolland County, in which Ellington and Somers are located, has confirmed 79 cases with 10 deaths.
