Ellington and Somers Election 2015 Results: Voting Winding Down
Few contested races are being waged this election year.
Voting ends at 8 p.m. in Ellington and Somers, with very little drama due to a number of unopposed candidacies.

In Ellington, endorsed Republican first selectman candidate Lori Spielman is running unopposed, ensuring her election as the successor to outgoing First Selectman Maurice Blanchette. The Board of Education is also set, with five candidates on the ballot for five seats.

Somers Republican First Selectman Lisa Pellegrini has no Democratic opponent; her challenger is petitioning candidate Linda Louise LaCasse, who came up short in a primary against Pellegrini in late summer.
Another petitioning candidate is longtime Board of Education member Anne Kirkpatrick, who did not gain her party’s endorsement for re-election. She is being opposed by Democrats Robert Schmidt and Barbara Capuano, as well as Republican Richard Lees, Jr.
