Ellington Volunteer Fire Department Fair Canceled
The annual three-day fair helps raise funds to purchase fire equipment and provide training.

ELLINGTON, CT —A year of turmoil caused by the coronavirus pandemic has claimed another victim, as the annual Ellington Firemen's Fair has been canceled for 2020.
Since 1934, the annual event put on in early September by the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department has helped raise funds to purchase additional equipment and provide training to department members which is not provided for by the town.
The three-day event full of fun, games, carnival rides and food, normally celebrated at Robert Tedford Park, is historically capped off with a parade, featuring local and neighboring fire units, antique fire apparatus and musical groups.
