Ellington Winterfest Schedule Announced

Winterfest is staged annually in the center of Ellington.

ELLINGTON, CT — Santa and Mrs. Claus will be appearing at Ellington’s 13th-annual Winterfest celebration, which will begin with a “Tree-Lighting Ceremony” on the Town Green gazebo bordering Maple and Main
Streets and include many town-wide activities.

The Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3, from 3:45 to 7 p.m.

Pictures can be taken with the Clauses, as well as Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer prior to the “Torchlight Parade,” which will travel down Ellington’s Main Street (state Route 286) at 5:15 p.m.

The parade features decorated fire trucks from Ellington and other Connecticut towns, holiday marchers, and the Kloter trolley.

Hall Memorial Library will present holiday entertainment and treats. The Nellie McKnight Museum will be open that day from 2 to 7 p.m. with the traditional special historical displays.

The Ellington Congregational Church will be offering an a la carte (and inexpensive and child-friendly) dinner;.

The Ellington Women’s Club will offer hot chocolate and cookies at the Town Hall Annex.

The Ellington Singers will kick-off the Winterfest by presenting a sing-a-long concert of holiday music at Hall Memorial Library at 7 p.m.

Complimentary refreshments will be served by the Friends of the Library
afterward.
