The State Police Major Crime Squad has been working at an Ellington residence since Wednesday morning.

An Ellington woman was found dead inside her Birch View Drive home Wednesday morning, and her husband was taken to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said.

Police were dispatched to the home at 7 Birch View Drive at 10:16 a.m. due to receipt of an alarm, and found the homeowner, Richard Dabate, Jr., 39, had sustained injuries warranting transport to the hospital.

Dabate’s wife, Connie, also 39, was then located within the house. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
