Ellington-Somers Police Blotter: April 12-April 18

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police, are accurate as of April 19, 2013. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

April 12

Mallory Bourgoin, 23, of 161 East Rd. in Broad Brook, was arrested after Connecticut State Police Troop C received an emergency phone call regarding a vehicle involved in a collision with property damage in the area of the intersection of Mountain Road and West Street in Ellington. A patrol check yielded the discovery of the vehicle involved near the intersection of West Road and Lower Butcher. Upon interview of the driver and passenger, it was determined that the driver was responsible for the damages caused in the collision. No injuries were reported from the driver and passenger. The vehicle was towed from the scene by JPM Auto. Bourgoin was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and evading responsibility. She has a set court date of April 30.  

Justin T. Scalley, 24, of 89 Benedict Dr. in South Windsor, was arrested after troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop for violations on Route 83 in Ellington. Subsequent investigation revealed that the operator was driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI, failure to wear safety belt in front seat, and improper hand signaling for turns or stopping.  

April 13

Brenda A. Kertenis, 37, of 182 Fourbridges Rd. in Somers, was arrested after a traffic accident investigation on Maple Street in Somers. She was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Kertenis was subjected to a series of field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive right.

Jeremy W. Dubiel, 27, of 34 Pine Knob Rd. in Somers, was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on South Road in Somers. He was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Dubiel was then subjected to a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was then transported to Troop C where he was processed in accordance with state police procedure. Dubiel was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive right. He was held on a $2,500 non-surety bond and was later released with a court date of April 24 at Rockville Superior Court.    

Jordan Dallacorte, 23, of 12 Minor Rd. in Stafford, was traveling on Sandy Beach Rd, west of Jacobs Hill Rd. in Ellington when he swerved off the road, striking a SNET utility pole. Dallacorte was then evading the scene and was subsequently located at his residence. No injures were reported. He was arrested for evading and failure to drive right. Dallacorte was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond with a set court date of April 29 at Rockville Superior Court. 

April 14

An unknown person smashed the front window of Studio K’s Glass Castle, located at 48 South Rd. in Somers. Entry was not gained into the business. The case is under investigation by the Somers Resident State Trooper's Office.

April 17

A 19-year-old Stafford Springs man was traveling westbound on Maple Street in Ellington, approximately 1/4 mile west of Church Street when he attempted to slow down quickly for stopped traffic. He lost control and laid down his motorcycle. The man sustained minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital. He was wearing a helmet. 

The Ellington Resident State Trooper’s Office responded to despondent female at a residence on West Road. The woman was transported to Manchester Memorial Hospital.
