Parthenia - Les Amours de Mai

Parthenia, hailed by the New Yorker as "one of the brightest lights in New York's early-music scene," while the Nantucket Inquirer & Mirror notes the "exquisite pools of color and emotion" it creates. Parthenia is a dynamic ensemble exploring the extraordinary repertory for viols from Tudor England to the court of Versailles and beyond. Known for its remarkable sense of ensemble and enduring interest in the bonds between poetry and music, the Orchestra has performed in concert across America, on radio and television, in prestigious festivals and series and on CDs. Soprano Julianne Baird and violinist Robert Mealy join with Parthenia in this tribute concert honoring long-time Jorgensen supporter and viol enthusiast, the late Bruce Bellingham.
