Two outstanding theater performances will be presented by Stafford Arts Commission on November 18th and 19th, 2011.
Jerry Levy, internationally recognized actor, will perform in a one-actor play each night. Levy’s mission, through his stage performances, is to utilize theater to entertain, enlighten and stimulate a constructive dialogue about society.

This monologue on egoism and materialism, explores what a sensitive, well educated and consumer driven man or woman discovers when their life-affirming existence is related to the often brutal suffering of others.
Set in the bathroom of a hotel in an impoverished country, the “anti-hero” both defends and relentlessly attacks his/her self centered way of life. Inner voices and imagined characters fuel this “fever”.

Saturday, November 19: Howard Zinn’s compelling theater piece “Marx in Soho” will return to the Stafford stage. Jerry Levy performed this extraordinary one-actor monologue in town, some years ago.
The setting is a secular after life which exists especially for intellectuals, artists and radicals. Karl Marx is given permission by the administrative powers to return to Soho in London for a second chance to air his socio-political theories. Through a bureaucratic mix up, he winds up in SoHo, New York City. The audience is then given a glimpse of Marx the man, rather than Marx the revolutionary socialist, with an entertaining and comprehensive introduction to Marx’s life and philosophy.
