Fire Engulfs House In Ellington [VIDEO] [UPDATED]

ELLINGTON, CT — Emergency crews from Ellington and several neighboring towns spent nearly two hours battling a fully-involved house fire at 155 Porter Road Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 1:02 p.m., and involved a 3,138 square foot Colonial which is set back from the roadway, nestled on nearly four and a half acres in a wooded area near the end of the long dead end street. Porter Road is off Kibbe Road in the northern end of town.

Moments after arriving at the scene, the incident commander reported crews would be using a "defensive attack."

Fire dispatches indicated all occupants were out of the home.

Thick black smoke from the blaze was visible from as far away as Enfield.

Fire command reported the blaze "under control" at 2:44 p.m.
