Former Somers Firefighter Named Chief in North Haven

Paul Januszewski, Jr. began his career as a junior firefighter in 1996.

Lt. Paul Januszewski, Jr., a former career firefighter in Somers, has been named Fire Chief in the town of North Haven.

Januszewski was selected by the Fire Commission to replace Chief Vincent Landisio, who retired on Aug. 31.

He is a 14-year veteran of the North Haven Fire Department, serving the last four years as a lieutenant/shift commander. Prior to his tenure in Somers, he launched his firefighting ambitions with the Enfield Fire Department, where he was the first member of the department’s Junior Firefighter Program when it formed in 1996.

Januszewski will be officially sworn in as chief at the North Haven Fire Department headquarters on Friday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m.
