YMCA HOLDS FREE COMMUNITY EVENT SATURDAY

HEALTHY KIDS DAY… Saturday, APRIL 30, 2016 1-4PM

Ellington, CT-On Saturday, April 30, the Indian Valley Family YMCA is encouraging all kids and parents in East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Rockville, Somers, South Windsor, Tolland, and Vernon to come to the Y for a play date and commit to being active every day. On Saturday, April 30, from 1:00pm-4:00pm featuring fun active play and educational activities to help kids be healthy and reach their full potential. It is all part of the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day™ – the nation’s largest health day for families.

The free event will take place at the Indian Valley Family YMCA from 1pm-4pm and features physical activities for all ages, a bounce house, Ellington Fire Department Touch a Truck, Ellington State Resident Trooper Child ID Kits, Meet some friendly Animals, Try Archery, Healthy Snacks, a Drum Circle, and more! As a leading nonprofit strengthening community through healthy living, the Y holds Healthy Kids Day to teach healthy habits to kids and inspire a lifetime love of physical activity.

“At the Indian Valley Family YMCA we know that parents struggle to find the time to incorporate more active play and healthier habits into their kids’ daily routine,” says, John L. Reilly, District Executive Director. “Doing so doesn’t have to require extra money or resources. It’s as simple as making a play date with your kids, with two key requirements – be active and have fun!”

Organizations involved: Camp Jewell, Camp Woodstock, Kidsafe CT, Vernon Community Network, Ellington Fire Department, Ellington Resident State Trooper, Bridge Family Counseling, Ellington Youth Services and more!
