Getting It Done In The Classroom: Ellington, Somers College Students

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

Coastal Carolina University, Conway SC

• More than 1,100 students were named to the President's List at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2022 semester, including Samuel Bedard from Ellington. Students who made the President's List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the semester.
• More than 2,700 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester, including Aubrey Charbonneau from Ellington. Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Dean College, Franklin MA

• Dean College is pleased to announce that Peyton Emrick of Somers has earned a place on the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester, in which nearly 1,300 students were recognized for maintaining high GPAs.
  Among the students are Ellington residents Nicholas Ford, Caroline Gray, Isabel Mund, Samuel Oravits, Kush Patel, Isabella Piazza, Katherine Platt, Andrew Raymond, Jacob Redekas, Jack Soto, Kalagena Sullivan and Spencer Wesley , as well as Somers residents Presley Crowel, Andrew Golden, Jaydon Griger , Avery Knybel, Grace Majowicz and Kilee Nutbrown. To qualify for Dean's List, full-time students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in letter-graded courses with an average GPA of 3.5 or higher in the semester.

Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA

• Daniel Johnson of Ellington made the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY

• Two students from Ellington were named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year: Rachel McLean, who is in the mechanical engineering program, and Bailey O'Brien, who is in the ASL-English interpretation program. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Tufts University, Medford MA

• Josh Wilkie of Ellington, Class of 2026, was named to the dean's list at Tufts University for the fall 2022 semester. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the fall 2022 Dean's List, including seven local students: McKenna Cahill, Matthew Gervin, Elizabeth Lewis and James Sternat, all of Ellington, and Samantha Alaimo, Marleena Kocot and Emily Renzoni, all of Somers. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.
