Head-On Crash Closes Part of Route 190 in Somers

SOMERS, CT — A Monday evening head-on crash closed a section of Route 190, according to Tolland Alert.

The crash took place just before 7 p.m. on Route 190 near Maple Street, according to Tolland Alert. One of those involved was trapped inside a vehicle and had to be extricated, according to Tolland alert.

Detours were in place while crews cleared the scene.

State police are investigating the crash. There was no word on injuries on Monday night, but Life Star helicopter had been called to the scene, according to Tolland Alert.
