Heroin Snagged By Police Dog In Somers Traffic Stop

State police discovered drugs during a Friday traffic stop.

SOMERS, CT — A traffic stop Friday on the Somers-Enfield line led to a pair being charged with possessing heroin with the intent to sell, state police said.

The incident took place at 2:33 p.m. on Route 190. A state trooper on an enforcement detail witnessed a vehicle swerve across lanes twice and pulled the car over.

The driver, who used a learner's permit with a Philadelphia address as identification, was identified as 27-year-old Raul Camuez. The passenger was identified as 25-year-old Nicole Roxy Munoz, of Elmhurst, NY.

A police dog alerted a trooper to the presence of narcotics and 320 grams of heroin were located in the car, according to a report.

In addition to the drug charge, Camuez was charged with a lane violation and operating a car without a license, according to a report.

The were both held over the weekend on $100,000 bonds and were to appear in court Tuesday, records show.
