Hidden Time Capsule Sparks Search For Former Ellington Students
A forgotten class project from more than 25 years ago has turned into a community search in Ellington.
ELLINGTON, CT — A long-forgotten time capsule tucked away in the attic of the Ellington Historical Society’s Nellie McKnight Museum is about to be opened, and the group is hoping the public can help reconnect it with the students who filled it more than 25 years ago.
According to the Ellington Historical Society, the capsule was created by Mrs. Creem’s sixth-grade class and packed with mementos and predictions for the future. Now, as the society prepares a new exhibit, it is trying to identify and reach one or more of the former classmates connected to the capsule.
The society said it hopes to share the capsule’s opening as part of the unveiling of its new exhibit on Saturday, April 25, at noon.
