Honoring Brave Residents at Woodcrest
Reception July 21 to recognize heroic actions during the recent fire at Woodcrest
The Somers Housing Authority is hosting a reception to recognize the courage and bravery of several residents at Woodcrest who responded to a fire in an apartment at Woodcrest on July 3, 2016. When the fire alarm started, these individuals went to the apartment generating the alarm where they found thick smoke and live fire. Their quick actions saved the life of the resident who lived in the apartment and controlled the fire, limiting its damage.
On Thursday, July 21, the Housing Authority will honor these people who put their lives at risk to help others. This will take place in the Community Room at #75 Battle Street at 1:00PM. All Woodcrest residents and the public are welcome to attend.
