Honors, Accolades Accorded To Ellington, Somers College Students

Assumption University, Worcester MA

• Caroline Casey of Ellington, Class of 2022, has been named to the University's Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

Coastal Carolina University, Conway SC

• Nearly 1,000 students were named to the President's List at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2021 semester. Among them was Samuel Bedard, a marketing major from Ellington.

Lasell University, Newton MA

• Lisa Pare, a Lasell University student from Ellington, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester. Students who receive this honor have completed at least 12 credits as a full-time student and have achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Nichols College, Dudley MA

• Four students from Somers and one from Ellington earned academic honors during the fall 2021 semester. Jonathan Conte of Ellington, Andrew Skowronek of Somers and Tanner Hammond of Somers received President's List honors. Erin Anthony and William Heller, both of Somers, received Dean's List honors. Students whose semester grade point average is 3.85 or higher for at least 12 undergraduate credit-hours and no grades below B- receive President's List honors. In order to be included on the Dean's List, a student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for at least 12 undergraduate credit-hours and must have received no grades below B- during the semester.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

• Colin Holmes, Brannen Wesley and Melissa Nadeau, all of Ellington, and Abigail Mulhern of Somers were named to the fall 2021 President's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List.
• Shawna Fisher of Ellington and Darrell Mondello of Somers were named to the fall 2021 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean's List.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

• Springfield College has named five students from Somers and three from Ellington to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2021 fall semester. Those students and their majors are: Keeley Joyal, Somers, art therapy; Braedan Shea, Ellington, communication/sport journalism; Lucas VanDeventer, Ellington, communication/sport journalism; Kathryn Bonanno, Ellington, exercise science / applied exercise science; Samantha Brown, Somers, exercise science / applied exercise science; Connor Roberts, Somers, health science/pre-physician assistant; Katelee McCormic, Somers, health/family and consumer science; and Dimitri Sanchez, Somers, physical education. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

• Savanna Macaluso, Ethan Peck and Jason Webber, all of Ellington, were named to the fall 2021 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

University of New Hampshire, Durham NH

• Anna Kalinowski of Somers graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in December 2021, earning a BA in English. Students who received the honor Summa Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0:

• Kylie Fox, a biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences from Somers, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2021 semester at the University of Vermont. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
