Hooded, Masked Man Pulls Gun, Steals Money at Somers Chinese Restaurant: State Police

Anyone who may have any information regarding the armed robbery or the suspect can contact state police.

SOMERS, CT — State police detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a popular Chinese restaurant in Somers.

On Sunday at about 8:20 p.m. troopers from Troop C in Tolland responded to the China City restaurant, 166 Main St., Somers, for a reported armed robbery.

When troopers arrived, restaurant employees told them that a white male entered China City, displayed a small black handgun, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving and fleeing the area, state police said.

No injuries were reported, state police said.

Troopers and a state police dog team searched the area for the suspect but did not locate him, authorities said.

Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, state police said.

The suspect is being described by state police as white male, approximately 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He was wearing a Halloween mask and a green hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery, state police said.
