House Fire, Tree Incidents in Somers Keep Firefighters Busy Saturday

Firefighters had a busy Saturday in Somers.

SOMERS, CT — Somers fire crews had a busy day on Saturday with a house fire and felled trees.

At about 7 a.m., firefighters responded to Colton Rd for a structure fire, according to Tolland County 911. About an hour later, interior fire crews had to withdraw and take a defensive posture, according to Tolland County 911.

At about 1 p.m., firefighters faced two weather-related incidents — one on Olde Salem Drive where a large tree on house and an other on Scully Road when a tree fell onto some wires, according to Tolland County 911.
