Johnson Memorial Hospital Put on Lockdown on Report of Person With Gun

The call came in at about noon.

STAFFORD, CT — Johnson Memorial Hospital and the Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford were both briefly placed on lockdown at lunchtime on Friday as a precaution to a report about a man with a firearm, state police said.

The initial call came in at about noon and one trooper was spotted speeding down Burbank Road toward the hospital area.

State police said it was never considered an active shooter situation, and an "individual" was taken into custody at 12:49 p.m., state police said.
