Judges Needed for New England Regional Chili Cookoff
The 31st annual cookoff in Somers is slated for Saturday, April 30.

SOMERS, CT - The temperature will likely be about 70 degrees, but hundreds of mouths will feel more like 170 as the New England Regional Chili Cookoff returns to Somers.
The 31st annual event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at the Pleasant View Golf Center, 452 South Road (Route 83) in Somers.
Event organizer Michael Freedman said between 75 and 100 volunteer judges are needed to sample delicacies in three categories: salsa, green chili and red chili.
A mandatory judges meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. the morning of the cookoff. Experience is not required; a brief training session will be provided.
Individuals are invited to ask friends to judge, and organizations who wish to participate as a group are welcomed.
