LETTER: Socha Asks to Continue Serving On Ellington School Board
Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

I am honored and excited to be seeking another term on the Ellington Board of Education. If re-elected, I will continue to advocate for the security of our schools. I believe all children should have a safe place to learn, free of violence and drugs. While the district continues to improve security, I will work to maintain security as a primary focus.
Another concern is our districtβs test scores. If our children are to succeed in an ever more competitive world, we must give them every opportunity to do their level best. Recognizing that all students learn at their own pace and excel in different ways, it is imperative that we meet each studentβs needs.
The Board of Education is currently evaluating the Windermere School as a potential building project. Such an endeavor needs to be done in keeping with the needs of the students and faculty, while also balancing the cost to the community. It is my belief that any school building project must be done with fiscal responsibility.
