Loaded Handgun Seized from Accused Drug Dealer from Ellington
A routine motor vehicle stop in Hartford turned into an arrest of a man on narcotics and weapons charges, with a hefty bond set.

HARTFORD, CT — A motor vehicle stop on Park Street Wednesday afternoon resulted in seizure of a considerable amount of narcotics and cash, and landed the driver in custody on multiple drug and weapons charges.
Julio Aponte, 40, of 1 Abbott Rd., Ellington, was charged with criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, as well as a tinted window violation. He was held on bonds totaling $700,000, according to the Hartford Police Department arrest log.
The motor vehicle stop occurred around 3:40 p.m. near 222 Park Street. Heroin, crack cocaine and a .380 caliber handgun containing four live rounds were seized, Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley said.
