Local Mom Organizing Diaper Drive for Harvey Victims

Diapers, rash cream and wipes are being collected for hurricane victims.

ELLINGTON/SOMERS, CT — Local mom Ashley Austin has organized a diaper drive to benefit the Texas Diaper Bank and those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Austin said donations of new and sealed packages are being accepted until Sept. 8 at the following locations:

  • Cutting Loose Salon, 95 South Road, Somers
  • Garden Barn, 228 West St., Vernon
  • HIVE Creative Co-Op, 598 Main St., Somers
  • Luann's Bakery and Cafe, 238 Somers Road, Ellington
  • Somers Fire Department, 400 Main St., Somers

With children of her own in diapers, Austin said she knows all too well how important they are.
