Longtime Somers High Hoops Coach To Retire

SOMERS, CT — Longtime Somers High School girls basketball coach Alan Walker is retiring, according to the Somers Board of Education.

Walker's retirement was accepted on the consent agenda of the Somers Board of Education at its last meeting May 23.

School officials said Walker had been girls basketball coach for 24 years.

In addition, Walker is retiring after 14 years as the high school's athletic director.

The school board said walker had "put in his papers for retirement from the athletic manager position."
