Loud Muffler Leads To Drug, Weapon Charges For Ellington Resident
A loud exhaust system in Vernon led to gun and drug charges against an Ellington resident, police said.

VERNON, CT — A loud exhaust system in Vernon led to gun and drug charges against an Ellington resident, police said.
Police released the details of the Oct. 3 incident on Monday. At 8:08 p.m. that day the loud, red, Kia sport utility vehicle was pulled over near the intersection of Grand and Vernon avenues, according to a report.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Bishop Owens, who lives in an apartment off Pinney Street in Ellington. More than 2 ounces of marijuana, packaged for sale, was located in the SUV, along with a unidentified weapon, a digital scale and cash, according to a report.

Owens was charged for the noisy muffler, the illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of more than a half-ounce of pot, the use of drug paraphernalia and the sale of a controlled substance, according to a report.
