Major Crime Squad Investigating Dead Man Found In Somers [UPDATE]

SOMERS, CT — A vehicle containing a dead body was located in a wooded area off Durkee Road Thursday morning, and the State Police Eastern District Major Crime squad was called to the scene, police said.

The body, which has subsequently been described by police as that of "an adult male," was found around 10:30 a.m. in a rural area about 500 feet off the road, Sgt. Dawn Pagan said.

"The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation," state police said in a written statement.

The incident is isolated and there is no immediate threat to the public, state police said.
