Male Takes Mail in Ellington: Report

A man was wandering and screaming on an Ellington Road, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — An Ellington man was arrested on Saturday after he was found removing mail from mailboxes and yelling lewd things while wandering on Hayes Road, state police said.

Robert Pincince, 21, of Crane Road, Ellington, was taken into custody at 1:59 a.m., state police said. Callers told state police that he was walking along the road, taking things out of mailboxes and yelling that he wanted to "rape a neighboring female," according to an arrest report.

Troopers arrived at the scene and told Pincince to stop, but he ran away, according to an arrest report. He was caught after a brief struggle with the help of state police dog Rocky, according to an arrest report.

Pincince was charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace and is due on court on Oct. 25, state police said.
