Man Charged After State Police Chase in Ellington

The man is due on court this month after engaging troopers in a chase, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — A man is facing a criminal charge after leading police on a high speed chase on local roads, according to an arrest report.

At 11:55 a.m. on Jan. 25, Kent Bahler, 20, of Jobs Hill Road, Ellington, was observed driving 65 mph in a 30 mph zone in Somers, state police said.

He tried to elude troopers and drove into Ellington on Egypt Road, state police said. He reached speeds in excess of 80 mph on that road and on Hoffman Road along a 2-mile stretch, state police said.

He was charged with reckless driving and is due in court on Feb. 7, state police said.

He was also issued an infraction for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, state police said.
