Man With Extensive Record Charged in Somers Break-In Case
A Luis Vuitton bag valued at $453 was among the items taken in a Somers break-in.

SOMERS, CT — A man with an extensive record was arrested in an 11-monthold Somers break-in case that included the theft of a Luis Vuitton bag valued at $453, state police said.
Jose Torres, 32, of Springfield, MA, was charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary, according to a report.
He was arrested via a warrant on Wednesday for the Sept. 12, 2017 case.

That day, a home on Main Street in Somers was broken into by someone who threw a brick through a basement window, according to a warrant.
In all, about $20,000 with of property was stolen. In addition to the expensive bag, a TV, laptops, a virtual reality headset, a diamond pendant ands a coin collection were among the items stolen, a warrant indicates.

State police said $903 worth of it was recovered.
Torres had been arrested 17 previous times, according to a warrant.
