Man Fights With Troopers in Middle of Road in Somers: Report
A Vernon man was charged with assaulting an officer after scuffling with state police in the middle of a road in Somers, police said.

SOMERS, CT — A 22-year-old from Vernon was charged with assaulting an officer after scuffling with state police in the middle of a road in Somers, a report indicates.
The incident involving Adam Barselau took place at 12:29 a.m. on Friday, state police said. A woman had called state police from Polo View Road to say two men were fighting, a report indicates. One of the men was trying to prevent another who was drunk from leaving in a car, according to a report.
Barselau left before a family member could pick him up and was intercepted by troopers at the intersection of Route 190 and Hall Hill Road. He then left the car and began walking in the road, according to a report.

He was told not to flee, but then became combative with troopers, according to a report.
