Man Posts High Bond In Violent Ellington Assault Case

An Ellington man posted a high bond in what court documents describe as a violent assault case.

ELLINGTON, CT — An Ellington man posted a $50,000 bond in what court documents describe as a violent assault case.

Hector Almodovar, 32, was arrested on a warrant Jan. 18 and posted a $50,000 bond in the case, according to court records. He was arraigned on Jan. 21 and is due back in court on Feb. 25, records show.

A woman reported several assaults involving Almodovar to the Ellington Resident State Trooper's Office on Jan. 17, according to a warrant.

He is accused of punching a woman in the nose and above an eye and repeatedly taking her cell phone, according to a warrant.

During one instance, Almodovar is accused of punching a woman, handing her his shirt to soak up the blood, taking her phone when she was trying to document the injuries and then going back to playing video games, according to a warrant.

State police said he has six prior arrests in Connecticut and Massachusetts, including assault and drug sales, according to a warrant.

He was charged on a warrant with second-degree stalking, second-degree harassment, and third-degree assault.
